The Cardinal Club is an incorporated association that supports rowing at Scotch College and is uniquely affiliated both with the Old Scotch Collegians Association (OSCA) and the Scotch Parents’ Association (SPA).

Scotch College has been rowing competitively since 1868. The Cardinal Club was formed in 1981 to encourage support for the Scotch College rowing community and is affiliated with Rowing Victoria.

The Cardinal Club was established:

to support and foster rowing at Scotch College;
to facilitate and encourage families of Scotch College rowers to support the Scotch College Boat Club;
to provide a means of social and competitive rowing for Old Scotch Collegians and adult members of the Scotch Family; and
to provide a means of connection, friendship and information sharing for members and the Scotch Family.

The Cardinal Club connects parents to each other and to rowing at Scotch by:

Providing riverbank support at regattas, particularly the Head of the River;
Arranging breakfast for rowers during the season;
Co-coordinating a number of social events, such as parent BBQ's at the start of training in Term 4, a row past prior to the season opening Melbourne Head Regatta and a parent Cocktail Party, as well as the Don Macmillan Cocktail party (with OSCA);
Providing race officials and logistical support at regattas.
Arranging merchandise for competitors and spectators;

The Cardinal Club also organises with Mercantile Rowing Club the running of the Scotch-Mercantile Regatta and assists the running of the Year 8 regatta.

The ‘Cardinal Rowers’ operates as a sub-group within the Cardinal Club and provides an outlet for Old Boys, parents and the broader Scotch Family who are members of the Cardinal Club to participate in social and competitive rowing. Social rowing is on Sunday mornings and a number of Cardinals Rowers opt to improve their skill and fitness allowing participation in a variety of masters/veterans rowing regattas.

The Cardinal Club Inc. (registration A0009297Z & ABN 59 616 046 977) is also a trustee of the Scotch Foundation.
